I was using IE7 to log into my GMail account moments ago. I was presented with this prompt by IE as soon as I hit Sign On. I have seen this prompt last night when I was trying ohdave’s RSA encryption in JavaScript. As soon as I try with 1024 bit RSA keys, IE would prompt this up and send the resources shooting up for this instance of IE. If I tried ohdave’s example with smaller precision of RSA keys, it usually worked.
Now Meebo also uses the same encryption, and I wonder is this the same problem. I am sure it is something new in IE7 and allows the browser to prompt up with a notice if the user wants to continue with the time-taking JavaScript routine.
If anyone from Meebo is reading this, can you leave a comment with any workaround or known issue related to this. That would be appreciated guys !

This is indeed new behavior in IE7 where we now try to detect runaway scripts hanging IE, and provide the user with an option to cancel execution.

We have tweaked the default timeout in IE7 B2 to minimize the frequency of the prompt

Correction: What you are seeing here in IE7 B1 is same behavior as IE6.
So…, now you know this behavior is being modified for IE7 B2
