A month ago I was sitting with a friend of mine, and we were talking about things that people do from their home/work computers but at the same time they would want to do the same things from any place. Its like having your applications available over the internet and accessing them from anywhere.
One such example is how people use instant messaging. Its hard to believe when you walk in a cyber cafe and learn that your favorite IM client is not installed on the rented machine. In comes Meebo. Seth, Elaine & Sandy came up with this wonderful idea which certainly is a step towards Web 2.0.
Meebo is a web app to log into one of your fav IM clients. You have a choice of 4 IM clients (AIM, Yahoo,ICQ & MSN) to choose from. Its based on Ajax and does a pretty decent job in getting through to give you a nice experience. There were some questions raised about a 3rd party web site asking for your usernames and passwords, but looks like they are taking this seriously and getting compliant by getting certified by Verisign.
Nice job guys! Hope to see more feature pour in.
